Health Campaign at Watu, Michika
The health campaign and wellness outreach event was held by YEAF to serve the underprivileged community of Watu at Michika LGA of Adamawa state in the northeastern Nigeria on the 30th March 2024. The Medical outreach was aimed at addressing their healthcare needs and promote overall well-being. We were able to screened and treated 628 adults over the age of 40years and above for BP(179),Diabetes (192), PUD (121),typhoid (27),COPD (12) and malaria (97) , 134 children of 2-10years(deworm).
The outreach was a success ,providing essential health services and education to an underserved population and highlighted the importance of continued effort to ridge the healthcare gaps. The operation carried out includes:
- Healthcare Services: Free medical check ups, dental care and eye examination were provided by a team of YEAF Doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Health Screenings: Screening for common condition such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Typhoid and Malaria were conducted to identify and address health issues early.
- Health Education: Workshops and information sessions on disease prevention, nutrition, exercise and mental health were offered to educate the population on maintaining a heathy lifestyle and wellness.
- Mental Health Support: Medical counselling services and stress management session was also covered.
- Fitness Activities: Physical activities and exercise classes were organized to encourage a more active lifestyle.

YEAF medical outreach to underserved communities significantly impacts health outcomes ,quality of life and social equity. We provides free medical check-ups, treatment and counselling. By monitoring and evaluating these programs effectively , healthcare providers can ensure they are meeting the needs of the population and continually improving their services.
